AI and Agentics in business and society
Artificial intelligence is evolving from isolated point solutions into “agentics”—networks of specialised, interoperable, multi-agent crews that collaborate like high-performing teams, reshaping everything from boardroom strategy to frontline public services. As organisations appoint Chief Agentic Officers to orchestrate these digital workforces, they unlock compound productivity gains: autonomous agents draft marketing copy, reconcile invoices, optimise logistics and even tutor students, while continuously learning from shared data. Society can harness the same architecture to personalise healthcare, streamline government workflows and expand access to lifelong education, provided we pair the technology with clear governance, inclusive upskilling and ethical safeguards. By embedding agentic systems thoughtfully—integrating human oversight, transparent metrics and equitable access—we convert raw computational power into broad-based prosperity, allowing people and machines to co-create value for all; this blog captures some of my thoughts on these opportunities and how to realise them.
